The study focuses on two exterior project areas (terrace and roof garden) pertaining to an eighteenth-century villa located in the hills outside Bologna. The project starts from the idea to create an intimate garden terrace from which to observe the city views from above. The garden is spread through several rooms connected by a central route, designed by slabs of stone plunged directly on grass. The characteristic element of the garden is a pool crossed by stone blocks that create a picturesque and monumental area through the use of pots and elegant seating.
An office quarter houses a large public space on its roof top, designed to meet the needs of the business centre with an high aesthetic value. The different parts of green areas are simplified by a geometric design that consolidates the whole surface area. Spacious lawns reminds to the concept of garden and create a powerful and striking contrast with the large volume of construction.
